Illayaraja is the world’s most prolific film composer having scored for around 1100 movies and continuing. His background score themes are as wildly popular as the songs from the film soundtracks. He is known for being a pioneer in integrating Indian folk and classical traditions with every genre of modern music one can think of.
For this unique concert, Prasanna digs into some of his most memorable themes from blockbuster films such as ‘Mouna Ragam’, ‘Nayakan’, ‘Tik Tik Tik’, ‘Punnagai Mannan’, ‘Jhonny’ and many more and has arranged it specially for his virtuoso band mates – Shalini, Zé Luis, Manu Koch, Steve Jenkins and Harvey Wirht so they could enrich these masterworks with their signature sounds and improvisation.
