Illayaraja Night

Prasanna with his trio of Steve Jenkins and Mauricio Zottarelli just returned from India after performing in Chennai to a live audience of 15,000 fans and a worldwide Television audience of several millions for the special event to celebrate legendary Indian film composer Illayaraja’s 1000th movie score achievement.

Illayaraja is a phenomenon unlike any the world has seen in music. He is Prasanna’s greatest musical inspiration and often Prasanna says Illayaraja’s music is what drove Prasanna to become a musician.

On Sat March 5, Terraza 7 audiences will hear a sampling of the Maestro’s music specially arranged by Prasanna by his quartet.

Be sure not to miss this unique integration of Indian film music with New York Jazz sensibilities.
