Maraca Bruja brings traditional gaita music from Colombia to NYC. They interpret the musical traditions that have been passed down through generations in the Montes de Maria and have spread across the world. A legacy of the region’s African and Indigenous ancestry, these traditional sounds and rhythms play tribute to the resistance of a spirit in the face of forced mestizaje.
