Emilio Teubal New Post-Trio is the latest project of the the NY based Argentine Pianist and Composer Emilio Teubal. The music, written especially for this ensemble, draws from a wide variety of musical styles that are part of his cultural background: Latin-American folk music, jazz, progressive rock, free improvisation, classical music and some hints of Middle Eastern music. The group features two musicians who feel at ease navigating those different styles: drummer and percussionist Chris Michael and Bassist Pablo Lanouguere
About Emilio Teubal:
Argentinean Pianist and Composer Emilio Teubal has been living and working in NYC since 1999. He is the pianist of the 2018 Latin Grammy winner album “Vigor Tanguero” by the Pedro Giraudo Quartet on the best Tango album category.
Emilio has recently release his fourth album as a bandleader Memorias de Otro Tiempo which has been chosen as Best Jazz on Bandcamp of the month. In October 2018 the Emilio Trio did an extensive album release tour in Japan performing nine concerts in five cities. Prior to this album he released “Música Para Un Dragon Dormido”(BJURecords 2013) which has been chosen as 2013 best album by several specialized media, and has been placed in the top 100 albums on the digital online store E-Music..And before that , Emilio has released two critically acclaimed records:La Balteuband (2006), and Un Monton de Notas (2009).
Mr Teubal has been an essential member the Tango and Jazz scene of NYC performing and recording with Pedro Giraudo Quartet (2018 Latin Grammy winner), Marta Gomez, Grammy award winners Fernando Otero and Phillippe Quint, bandoneon legends Raul Jaurena, Lisandro Adrover and Daniel Binelli, and Astor Piazolla’s legendary violinist Fernando Suarez Paz.
In 2007, Emilio was awarded Meet The Composer’s prestigious Van Lier Fellowship, which provides support for talented, culturally diverse young people who are seriously dedicated to a career in the arts.
Emilio has performed both as a band leader and sideman in some of the most prestigious venues and theaters in the United States such as The Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Symphony Space, The Blue Note, Birdland, Le Poisson Rouge, Joes Pub,and The Citifields Mets Stadium. He has also toured several countries such as Mexico,Guatemala,Japan, Qatar, Spain, and Argentina to name a few.
