About Tambor y Caña: 

Tambor y Caña is a traditional Afro-Venezuelan music project with an experimental edge, founded in May 2017 in Brooklyn, NY, by Willie Quintana along with Daniel Prim, Jeickov Vital, Juan Diego Villalobos, and Kevin Costante. Since its inception, the project has thrived through collaborations with various Venezuelan artists and musicians, including Rafael Urbina, Roberto Verde, Fernando Colombet, Luis D'Elias, Heyleen Williams, Ana Maria Ayala, Marcos Espinoza, Lucas Bahamonde, Carlos Diaz, Angelika Taborda, Cesar Quiroz, Jhon Canvas, Victor Medrano, among others. Tambor y Caña is dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich traditions of Afro-Venezuelan music, encompassing dance, vocal performances, and percussion using traditional instruments, often in celebration of San Juan Bautista. Over the years, Tambor y Caña has graced numerous venues and events, sharing the stage with esteemed artists such as Ocho y Mas, Rumberos del Callejón, Desorden Público, Los Wizzards, Jorge Glem, Aquiles Baez, Mafer Bandola, Linda Briceño, Porfi Baloa, Mv Caldera, Ricardo Cepeda, Luisito Quintero, Roberto Quintero, and more.

About Willie Quintana: 

Willie Quintana, a dedicated musician, is the visionary founder and director of Tambor y Caña, a New York-based project exploring Afro-Venezuelan rhythms. He also leads TAMBORELLAS, championing gender equality in Afro-Venezuelan music. As a driving force behind SAN JUAN NYC, he represents the Afro-Venezuelan celebration of San Juan Bautista in New York. Willie Quintana's ability to blend tradition with innovation has earned him respect as a prominent figure in the musical community, inspiring others to explore the cultural richness of Afro-Venezuelan music.
