About Manuela:

Manuela is a Colombian artist who combines jazz with Latin American folklore, creating a cosmopolitan sound. Manuela and her band belong to a new generation, inspired by the folkloric traditions of the 50's who propose new compositions with a modern touch, nourished by jazz reharmonizations.

Born and raised in Colombia, she moved to New York as a teenager, where she was led into the jazz scene by mentors like Olga Román and Lauren Kinhan. She has performed in major venues around the world, including Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Mad Monkfish, Palau de Les Arts and Radio City Valencia. Manuela is about to release her first album of original songs, which will include an international tour.

Manuela’s band is made up of musicians from all over Latin America. On electric bass is Sebastián Guerrero and on drums Federico Aristizábal, both from Medellín, Colombia. On Afro Peruvian percussion is Luana Brazzán from Arequipa, Perú. On Colombian percussion all the way from Ibagué, Colombia is Juan Sebastián Ramírez Cubides. On guitar and cuatro venezolano, Felipe Álvarez from Puerto Montt, Chile. On clarinet and EWI, Juan Diego Panadero from Bogotá, Colombia, and on piano, Simón Martínez from Quito, Ecuador.
