About Manu Koch:

Manu Koch, a multifaceted pianist and saxophonist from Baar, Switzerland, began his musical journey at age 6 with classical piano and expanded to tenor saxophone at 18, incorporating jazz studies in Lucerne. A 1997 Berklee College of Music graduate, he became a sought-after freelancer in Boston, weaving jazz, funk, hip-hop, and various world music influences into his performances. Since relocating to New York in 2000, Koch has developed a globally-influenced sound, shaped by extended stays in Brazil, India, and China (Hong Kong), and collaborations with over 100 artists and bands.

Koch's extensive sideman repertoire includes touring with Angélique Kidjo, projects with Santana's musical director Benny Rietveld, and performances with a range of international artists such as Nigerian talking drum master Kofo The Wonderman and the New York Gypsy All-Stars. His diverse collaborations reflect his versatility, contributing to 15 albums for blues/soul artist Tomás Doncker and sharing stages with jazz luminaries like Dave Liebman and Roy Hargrove.

Manu Koch's global sensibility and rich professional tapestry have established him as a distinctive voice in the contemporary music world, blending his Swiss roots with a deep understanding of international rhythms and melodies.
