New York Flamenco City$12
You don’t have to travel to Spain to experience flamenco. Ever since the Spanish bolero school dancer Fanny Elssler set foot on the New York stage in 1840 New York City has had a vibrant flamenco scene. The great legends, dancer Carmen Amaya and guitarist Sabicas, made of New York their home as well as many other flamenco artists throughout the years. There is flamenco in the City, good flamenco!!
Alfonso was born and raised in Sevilla, the heartland of flamenco music, and is a well-known artist in the USA and abroad.
Ms. de los Angeles has had the privilege to perform as a featured soloist with the Melinda Marquez Flamenco Dance Center in Flamenco Made in the USA in 2012 and in Tablao de la Luna Nueva in 2014. This show has since gone on to be nominated for a Latin ACE award for best musical production. The company is pleased to be presenting its second work in the Spring of 2018, Enduendado.
Juan Pedro Jiménez is a native flamenco guitarist from Cádiz, Spain. He has toured throughout Spain in settings from the most traditional to educational demonstrations and theater productions. He has recently moved to the USA and has integrated rapidly in the New York flamenco scene.
