Terraza 7’s Sundays of Classical Music Series presents:

Nilko Andreas, Aronson & Jimenez – Chamber Music –


A Chamber music concert performed by classical musicians featured in New York. The repertoire will be Colombian music.


Nilko Andreas Guarin:

Classical Guitarist and Composer Nilko Andreas Guarin has been praised as an “electrifying performer for his powerful stage presence and spontaneity that grows irresistible.” Since his Carnegie hall debut in 2009 Nilko Andreas has been captivating audiences on three continents as a soloist and chamber musician. Awarded several awards, including “The Recognition Award” by the City of New York for his contributions to the Arts. Born in Colombia, Nilko Andreas is of great interest for the composers of Latin America, constantly commissioning and premiering new works. He has given master classes at the Mannes guitar seminar in NY, Brazil, France and Colombia; he has also given a Lecture/Presentation on Colombian Classical Music at Columbia University, He has recorded music with multi-platinum artists and composed music for film and theater. He holds a BM and an MM from The Manhattan School of Music. Recently he performed “Concierto de Aranjuez” in China with the Shenzhen Philharmonic under Mto Henry Van de Velde. Upcoming engagements include “Aranjuez” in Jakarta Indonesia, with the Surabaya Symphonic Orchestra, Manuel Ponce’s “Concierto del Sur” with the Baja California Symphonic Orchestra, a European tour with Austrian Violist Firmian Lermer during the 2018 season, solo concerts in Indonesia, Germany, Colombia and Poland,  as well as performing at Carnegie Hall as part as the “Amazonas” Concert series in 2017 He is the Artistic Director at AZLO productions and the Latin-American Chamber Music Society of New York.


Molly Aronson:

Based in New York City, Molly Aronson is a cellist known for her “solidity and verve” (San Francisco Classical Voice). She has performed throughout the US and internationally on such series as the Chamber Players International, Luzerne Festival Series, Chateau Festival, Mohawk Trails Concerts, and the Interlochen Faculty Chamber Series. This past season also included touring with the Serendip Piano Trio. A proponent of contemporary music, Ms. Aronson has premiered and recorded numerous works by living composers. She has played on Bargemusic’s Here and Now Series as well as for the Composer’s Voice and Lex54 Concerts. Ms. Aronson is also currently the Music Director of Sanctuary, an aleatoric multi-disciplinary ensemble that develops works exploring the unique languages of dance, text, imagery and sound. As an orchestral cellist, she has performed with the Savannah Philharmonic, RT9 Ensemble, Opus One Chamber Orchestra, and the National Orchestra Institute. Not limited to the realm of classical music, she has also performed with Rod Stewart, Josh Groban, Vanessa Williams, and Andrea Bocelli. Ms. Aronson has held faculty positions at Purchase College’s Conservatory of Music, the New York State Summer School of the Arts, and the Interlochen Arts Camp, aand is currently on the faculties of Luzerne Music Center, the Mozart Academy, and the Larchmont Music Academy.


Laura del Sol Jiménez:

Flutist Laura del Sol Jiménez has won numerous awards throughout her career, highlighted by the expressiveness and poised technical accuracy of her performances. Currently based in New York City, Laura frequently performs as a soloist and chamber musician. She was a prizewinner in the Gran Premio de Santiago Flute competition in Chile, Colombia’s Concurso Universitario de Flauta de Bogotá, Ciudad de Bogotá Woodwind Competition, and selected five for the roster of the Biblioteca Luis Ángel Arango Concert Series. Among her appearances as a soloist are with the Cali Philharmonic Orchestra, Marga-Marga Symphony, Caldas Symphonic Orchestra, Manhattan School of Music Philharmonia Orchestra, and Universidad Javeriana Symphony Orchestra. While living in Bogotá, Laura was frequently invited to play with the Colombia National Symphony Orchestra and the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra. Laura held the principal flute position with the Filarmónica Joven de Colombia (2012-2014). Equally at home as a chamber musician, Laura has been invited to international music festivals around the world and collaborated with groups such as Windscape and the Jupiter String Quartet.
Laura holds degrees from the Manhattan School of Music and the Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá.
