Pablo Mayor, whose powerhouse orchestra has redefined modern Colombian music in the last decade, crosses cultural boundaries with his latest “El Barrio Project-SALSA,” Folklore Urbano’s most danceable album to date, just released.
The new production takes listeners into the historic birthplace of salsa: Spanish Harlem and the Bronx, featuring Pablo’s renowned arrangements and collaborative work with songwriters Nick Chavarria, Cruz “Chino” Melao (an icon of the historic era of NYC salsa), and Ricardo Gautreau. This is Folklore Urbano-salsa and carries with it Pablo Mayor’s signature sound that blends gritty dance music with skillfully crafted orchestrations, this time showcasing his long-standing career as a pianist with the legendary Orquesta Broadway, and his early years as a Cali, Colombian-born salsa musician.

El Barrio Project-SALSA is joyful dance music and features a brand-new line-up of multi-cultural vocalists and instrumentalists. #GlobalSalsa #GlobalMusictoUnify. Follow Folklore Urbano at @GlobalMusictoUnify.
